CITY TRADITION AND CITY RENOVATION

This paper illuminates an important principle about the city development. Taking the Shenyang city as an example, the paper emphasizes that the historic buildings should be preserved when renovating a city. The paper describes how to handle the relations correctly between the preservation and the renovation. So that, it could be avoided to attend to one thing and lose sight of another. Some relevant suggestions dealing with the developments of Shenyang city are propounded, which might be taken as the references for city construction management, town planning and urban design.
