| Abstract: | Cellulosic fibers, the major portion of the papermaking furnish, carry negative charges when suspended in water due to the ionization of acid groups. In this article, the origin and distribution of fiber charges were introduced. The emphasis was put on the effects of fiber charges on papermaking process and paper properties. |
