Abstract:With ozonized water as influent, the effluent of the double-check filter of biological activated carbon with different quartze sand thickness is studied. The results show that the effluent quality of the double-deck filter composed by biological activated carbon and quartz sand is better than simplex biological activated carbon filter, which can ensure biological safety of the effluent. The removal of the dissolvable organic matter has no relation to the thickness of the sand, however, the insoluable organic matter of effluent has relation to the thickness of sand. And the best sand thickness of the removal turbidity of filter, biomass and particle count is defined. Finally, the best range of quartz sand thickness of the activated carbon filter is ascertained.
