Reaching new heights at San Vicente

In an effort to address water shortage in San Diego County, California, the San Diego County Water Authority set out to raise the existing 70-year-old San Vicente Dam from 220 ft （67 m） high to 337 ft （102.7 m） high. The San Vicente Dam is a concrete gravity dam. The scope of work includes quar- ry design, design construction support, value engineering and cost estimating. Quarry and roller-com- pacted concrete （RCC） mix testing, foundation excavation and then RCC dam construction were included in the construction phase of the project.
