Photomagnetic susceptibility effect in CaSo4: Dy phosphors |

Abstract: | Dysprosium activated phosphors of diverse activator concentration have been prepared, with and without addition of flux and their magnetic susceptibilities have been measured by Gouy method. The changes in magnetic susceptibilities have been observed for both with and without flux added phosphors and both in presence and absence of light as well. The observed decrease of magnetic susceptibility has been attributed to the difference in multiplicities of emitting and ground state of Dy3+. The increase in magnetic susceptibility in flux added samples has been attributed to the increased population of impurity ions (Dy3+), in the host lattice, due to the presence of flux. |
