| Abstract: | A process flow of black trivalent chromium electroplating on ABS plastics was introduced, including degreasing, hydrophilizing, roughening, neutralizing, pre-immersing, catalyzing, accelerating, electroless Ni plating, activating, Cu plating, etching, bright Ni plating, black Cr(III) plating, passivating and drying. The formulation of black Cr(III) plating bath was given. The role of individual component in the bath and the effects of process conditions on the coating were discussed. Some solutions to common problems were presented. |
