| Abstract: | The structural system and application scope of portal frame are briefly introduced. At the same time the design method of light weight steel structure with large tonnage crane of portal frame is elaborated and some questions are proposed that should be considered with respect to foundation design, span of steel frame, width and length of pile and pile cross section in frame. Finally the matters needing attention in design are emphasized. |
