Abstract: | The article considers the effect of the irradiation by fast neutrons and of a subsequent heat-treatment on the properties of some metallic materials. The change of the properties of materials upon irradiation is explained in terms of the formation of various types of defects on the crystal lattice, which are annealed at appropriate temperatures. The kinetics of the defect elimination processes leading to a strengthening of the material is studied, and their activation energy is determined.The authors express their gratitude to V. M.
