Evolution and features of urbanization in China

Can urbanization adapt to the promotim of the economic development in China with the deepening of urban reform? The authors gave in detail the Chinese urbanization evolution and features during the period from 1949 to 2008 based on the population-economy-space-social perspective,and re-measured the relationship between urbanization and urban economic development.The evolution of China’s urbanization development,is divided into three stages with four characteristics.Different stages in the urban development have different characteristics mainly.The paper shows that although China has made great progress in population and economic urbanization,some new problems materialized in the same time,for example,space urbanization abnormal growth of great progress in social urbanization is neglected.This will be detrimental to the city in technological innovation;and not conducive to building the environment of innovation of industry-school-research alliance;and not to the transformation of urban development.
