Abstract: | Space-time modulation of an X-ray beam is investigated by total external reflection on a YZ-cut of a LiNbO3 crystal modulated by surface acoustic waves. It is shown that the X-ray diffraction is determined by the amplitude and the wavelength of the surface acoustic waves. Both experimental and theoretical studies have revealed the possibility of fabricating X-ray optical elements based on space-time modulation by controlling the wavelength and the pulse modulation of the surface acoustic waves. These experiments were carried out at CNRS (Grenoble, France) using a rotating copper anode |
