Abstract: | N.m.r. spectral assignments were carried out for major component identification in liquefaction solvents. Fractionation, n.m.r. and capillary g.c. were applied to analysis of anthracene oils and an SRC middle distillate. Commercial anthracene oils were found to vary widely in composition. Alkane contents ranged from 2–3%, greatly influencing solvent stability, performance and liquefaction yields at 460 °C. |
