Abstract:La Ni based alloy powders used for Ni metal hydride batteries were synthesized by mechanical alloying starting from the elements. The electrical capacity obtained was up to 320 mAh/g. In addition, the comparison in the microstructure and electrochemical properties was made between the alloy powders produced by mechanical alloying and by melting. It was shown that mechanical alloying is promising in the preparation of practical RE hydrogen storage electrode materials.
