| Abstract: | The basic concept of fractal theory is introduced, the state of the of applications of fractal theory to product surface quality evaluation, tool wear, the condition monitoring of machining equipment are reviewed, its fractal characterization is described. The means and the calculation method of the fractal dimension and the correlation dimension are given. |
