Abstract: | Induction heating is used to heat metals before hot treatment. It provides a high quality of the process and is rather efficient in many cases. However, when heating nonmagnetic materials with low specific resistance, the efficiency of an induction heating setup becomes low. To increase the efficiency of induction heating systems, a heating method has been used in which a heated item is rotated in s transverse magnetic field created by superconducting coils. In this paper, an analytical method to calculate an electromagnetic field in a similar heating setup has been considered. The method is based on a cascade equivalent circuit obtained on the basis of the fundamentals of electromagnetic theory and the theory of electric circuits. |
