Abstract:A novel injection method for reducing the harmonic distortion associated with bridge rectifiers has been developed by the authors. The performance of the new system under varying rectifier operating conditions is examined and a detailed case study of the new scheme applied to a low-voltage distribution network is included in the paper. Results of this case study show that the new scheme is a cost effective method of reducing total harmonic distortion levels throughout distribution systems.
