| Abstract: | Methine disperse dyes of benzothiophenone derivatives can be represented by the following general formula:where Z = O, C(CN)2 etc; X=H, CH3 etc; R1, R2 = H, CH3, CH2CN, CH2Cl, C6H5 etc. Thermal-fixation of the dyes on polyester fibre varies with different substituents. Cyano substituent, in particular disfavors such fixation. It has been found that the greater the salubility parameter δ of the dye, the worst would be its thermal-fixation properties. |
