Abstract:With diphenylmethanediisocyanate( MDI), castor oil( CO), polyether polyol and dimethylol propi- onic acid (DMPA) as the main raw materials, a series of castor oil modified NaHSO3 blocked waterborne polyure- thane were prepared by prepolymer method. The influence of R value, DMPA and CO content on WPU and film property was discussed. The properties were characterized by FT-IR and DSC analysis. The results showed that the film thermal stability, tensile strength increased and elongation at break, water absorption decreased by adding CO. The emulsion had better comprehensive performance when R value was 1.4 - 1.7, DMPA content was 3.2% 6.3% ,CO content was 7.5% - 11.2%.
