| Abstract: | The development and applications of expert systems in materials science in the past decade are reviewed with more attention to the development history, application areas and application types. The development status, existing problems as well as improvements of expert systems used widely for material design and based on artificial neural network are discussed emphatically. The development trend of expert systems in materials science is also prospected. |
