Abstract:Mixed cobalt and nickel oxides, obtained by vacuum coevaporation of Co, Ni and TeO2 are investigated as electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction and evolution reaction. Gas-diffusion bifunctional oxygen electrodes (GDE) are prepared by direct deposition of catalyst on gas-supplying membrane. Thus obtained GDE with different atomic ratio RCo/Ni and R(Co+Ni)/Te of the catalyst are electrochemically tested by means of steady-state voltammetry. It is shown that the films exhibit high catalytic activity toward both oxygen reduction and evolution reactions despite very small catalyst loading of about 0.07 mg cm−2.
