Abstract: | When grid voltage drops down, wind turbines must maintain connection with power grid for a certain time, not disconnection, and can provide reactive power to support the recovery of voltage, namely have Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT) capability. Doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) has lowest voltage ride through capability. This paper builds the model of DFIG, studies the LVRT capability, analyzes the facts affecting the LVRT capability by MATLAB/SIMULINK simulation, and discusses the ways to improve it. |
