防蚊虫棉织物及其性能

研究通过使用除虫菊酯杀虫剂处理纤维而使织物具有驱虫的作用。除虫菊酯杀虫剂是一种从雏菊中提炼出的、且为环境友好型的天然植物杀虫剂。除虫菊酯杀虫剂的功能是抑制蚊虫叮咬从而驱虫。处理后的织物可应用于如窗帘、椅垫、地毯家用纺织品的生产。研究工作的主要目标为:使用除虫菊酯这种从雏菊花中提取的天然驱蚊剂物质来开发织物,并将开发的织物用于床单、床罩和枕套,评价其在被单和枕套中的使用性能。从测试结果可以推断:驱蚊面料驱赶蚊子效果显著,可用于家用纺织品市场。

Cotton mosquito repellent fabrics and their performance

In this project an attempt has been made to develop mosquito repellent fabric by treating fabric with pyrethrum,extracted from daisy flowers,a natural and environmentally friendly insecticide.The action of pyrethrum is to inhibit the mosquitoes from biting and thus casues repellency.The treated fabric can be applied in the manufacture of home textiles like curtains,upholstery,and carpets.The main objectives of the research work to develop mosquito repellent fabric using pyrethrum which is a naturally occurring substance extracted from the daisy flower,to use the developed fabric to make bed linen,bed covers and pillow cases and to evaluate the performance characteristics of the bed linen.From the test results it is inferred that mosquito repellent fabric is quite effetive in repelling mosquitoes and can be introduced in the markets for use in home textiles.
