Abstract: | Synthesis of nanocrystalline NbC was explored via mechanochemical processing. The reaction mixture comprised of NbCl5 and CaC2. Fifteen minutes of high energy milling was sufficient to effectively transform the reaction mixture into nanocrystalline NbC. CaCl2 and elemental C which is formed as by-product was successfully separated and leached out using centrifuge and distilled water. |
