Current issues in counseling psychology: Entitlement, education, and identity confusion.

Counseling psychology is in its adolescence and suffering the typical adolescent malaise of identity confusion. Four main components are identified as contributing to this confusion: (a) diversification of employment setting/clientele, (b) identity issues, (c) education and training dilemmas, and (d) the credentialing/reimbursement controversy.
