浅析武当玉虚宫坐南朝北的原因

众所周知中国古建筑的主流朝向一贯是＂坐北朝南＂,这既有自然原因也包含社会原因。许多著作认为这便是中国古建筑唯一的朝向选择,并将此奉为法则不可动摇。但作为明代重要建筑武当山玉虚宫却恰恰相反采用＂坐南朝北＂的形式,这是武当山自然状况、明代皇家意愿与朝觐功能需要三者共同作用的结果。

Brief Analysis on the Reason why the Yuxu Temple in Wudang Mountain Facing North

As everyone knows the mainstream orientation of Chinese ancient architecture has always been facing south,it include both natural and social reasons.Many works believe that facing south is the only choice for those Chinese ancient architecture,and regarded it as an unshakeable law.However,as the important buildings in the Ming Dynasty,Wudang Yuxu Temple chose facing north,it was the result of the natural condition of Wudang Mountain,and the wills of Ming Dynasty royalty and the needs of prayer.
