Discussion on documenting methods for electronic file of archive maps of achievement geological data --with Map GIS Software conversion as an example

Geological maps play an important role in geological prospecting. This article describes the require- ments of electronic file format for geological map archive, and summarizes common questions about geological maps as- sociated with actual work. With special focus laid on methods for how to make pictured electronic archives for geolog- ical data, this article uses Map GIS conversion as an example, aiming to standardize the electronic file format of geolog- ic data archive, so as to better serve the public,share resources and make the best of resources utilization.
