Abstract:Dixon's resultant is used in the forward positional analysis for the 5 5 in parallel platform mechanism.The 40th order input output closed form equation in one unknown is obtained, and sequentially all of the roots for all unknowns can be gained.The results without extraneous root .The degree of Input/Output equation is then reduced from 48th to 40th degree by the symbolic computation which is carried out by computer algebraic system Mathematic 2.0 and Maple V
