基于Imagine流处理器的JPEG图片压缩技术

摘    要:Imagine流体系结构利用三级存储层次较有效地解决了带宽问题,其多处理器也提供了数据操作的高度并行性,我们在Imagine平台上实现了JPEG压缩算法。本文详细说明了JPEG在Imagine上的实现和运行性能,并且和C6211DSP作了性能比较,实验结果表明Imagine流处理器比C6211DSP在图片压缩上具有更优的性能,验证了流处理器在处理大型数据上的优势。

Abstract:The Imagine stream architecture provides three-level memory hierarchy,which can solve bandwidth bottleneck effectively.Its multi-processor also provides high data parallelism.Based on the Imagine platform we complete JPEG compression algorithm.This article detailedly explains the implementation and performance of JPEG compression algorithm based on Imagine processor,and compares with C6211DSP on performance.The result indicates the Imagine processor has more excellent performance than C6211DSP on photo compression,which validates the efficiency of the stream processor on large data handling.
