置疑中国最优城市规模

梳理并评析了相关研究成果,然后利用1990-2008年数据对我国是否存在最优城市规模进行了实证分析。得出以下主要结论:对于多数指标和年份,中国不存在统一的最优城市规模;对于部分存在最优城市规模的年份和指标,最优规模是一个变量;整体上看,中国目前不存在过度规模城市,限制大城市规模的观点依据不足。

DOUBT OF OPTIMAL CITY SIZE IN CHINA

This article summarizes and analyzes the theoretical and empirical literatures,then the following conclusions are drawn based on the empirical study on the data from 1990 to 2008: Firstly,in terms of most indicators and years there exists no uniform optimal city size in China.Secondly,in terms of some indicators and sample year,there is optimal city size but it is a variable.Generally speaking,there is no excessive over-sized city in China,and the idea of restraining the size of big cities lacks enough support.
