Microstructure and Performance Analysis of 2205 Duplex Phase Stainless Steel Coiled Tubing

Carbon steel coiled tubing has serious corrosion and low fatigue life in the oil field with the coexistence of H;S and CO;.Therefore,2205 duplex phase stainless steel coiled tubing with strong corrosion resistance and reasonable matching of strength and plasticity was developed.By means of detecting and evaluating the microstructure,hardness,mechanical properties,plasticity and corrosion of the tubular goods,the performance of 2205 duplex phase stainless steel coiled tubing were thoroughly studied and analyzed.The study results show that the microstructure of the coiled tubing is mainly composed of austenite and ferrite;the microhardness of welding seam,heat affected zone and parent metal fluctuates little and is basically the same;the mechanical properties of coiled tubing are good,with yield strength of 640 MPa,tensile strength of 782 MPa,collapse strength of 117.5 MPa and burst pressure of 144.5 MPa;there is no crack in flattening and expanding test of tubular goods,which has high plasticity and toughness;the fatigue life of tubular goods is 1852 times,which is much higher than that of carbon steel CT80 coiled tubing of the same specification;the tubular goods has good corrosion resisting property,and its corrosion rate is much lower than that of carbon steel tubing under the same working conditions,so it is more suitable for long-term service in oil and gas fields containing H₂S and CO₂.The study results provide references for the selection of tubular goods of coiled tubing.
