Abstract:The throttle valve with reliable performance parameters plays a key role in the reasonable control of bottom hole pressure in high pressure,high sulfur content and high yield wells,and it is one of the decisive factors for the successful establishment of secondary well control.Aiming at the commonly used sleeve,wedge and orifice throttle valves,numerical simulation of erosion was carried out based on discrete phase model to study the erosional damage mechanisms of different throttle valves and analyze the effects of fluid pressure and particle movement velocity on the erosion rate of valve cores,and finally,the field test was used to verify the numerical simulation results.The study results show that the maximum erosion rates of cores of the 3 kinds of valves all increase with the increase of fluid pressure difference,particle mass flow rate and particle density;under the same conditions,the erosion-resisting capacity is sleeve valve>wedge valve>orifice valve in turn;and the field test results are consistent with the simulation results,which proves the reliability of the discrete erosion model built in the paper.After having comprehensively considered the requirements of erosion-resisting capacity,well killing reliability of throttling and well control technology,it is proposed to adopt sleeve valve for main throttling,wedge valve for auxiliary throttling and gradually disuse orifice valve in 105 MPa choke manifold of high pressure,high sulfur content and high yield wells,and conduct structure optimization on throttle control box of sleeve valve and downstream variable diameter of wedge valve to meet the requirements of longer time and higher strength throttle control.The study results provide a theoretical basis for the design and manufacture and field operation parameter configuration of throttle valves.
