Abstract:The phase behavior and solubilization for the microemulsions system of hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide(CTAB) and octyl phenol polyoxyethylene-10ether(Triton X-100)/alcohol/oil/brine were studied with the ε-β" fishlike" phase diagram method.The phase transmissions winsor I→III→II were the results of the increase in alcohol concentrations,and some significant physico-chemical parameters(βB,εB,βE,εE,AS,SO,AO,CS,CA,R) were derived from the HLB plane equation.The unequimolar composite of cationic and nonionic surfactants made the solubilization of the microemulsion formed by mixed cationic and nonionic surfactants more effective than the single surfactant system because of the interactions between CTAB and TX-100 molecules.The effects of different alcohols,oils and inorganic salt(NaCl) on the middle-phase behavior of microemulsions were also investigated.
