| Abstract: | This paper expounds the relations between metacognition, metacognitive knowledge, metacognitive experience, metacognitive monitoring, and English reading comprehension. And specific approaches on how to improve the metacognitive competence are advanced, that is, attention must be paid to impart conditional knowledge, to raise awareness in reading activities, to enrich metacognitive experience etc. |
