Cell Models for Viscous Sintering

The kinetics of viscous sintering are determined for models consisting of cylinders intersecting so as to form cells with cubic, tetrahedral, and octahedral shapes. These models are shown to be quite resistant to Rayleigh instabilities, and to densify at similar rates. The constitutive parameters (free strain rate, uniaxial viscosity, and Poisson's ratio) are presented for all of the models.
