Abstract: | Cyclodextrin Polymers. Macromolecular cyclodextrin polymers are either homo-or copolymers which are water-soluble up to a certain molecular weight. At higher degree of polimerization a gel-structure is formed. Polymers are characterized by water-retention, density, gel-bed volume, size of particles and their mechanical stability, moreover, molecular weight and dye-sorption isotherm. Among chemical characteristics the “apparent void concentration” and concentration of bridge links are the most important. Polymerized cyclodextrins are useful for chromatographic separation as well as stabilizing, concentration and purification of substances and they can catalyze certain reactions. |
