Abstract:The paper expounds impact and harm of DC bias on convert transformer and DC system and it simulates characteristics of DC bias in convert transformer under the circumstance of normal operation of HVDC benchmark model of international conference on large HV electric system(GIGRE) by using electro magnetic transient in DC system(EMTDC).The paper brings forward protection criteria for DC bias based on neutral line current in convert transformer and thereby further perfects convert transformer protection.
