Development of collaborative Digital Design and Manufacturing Information Management Platform for Mechanical Product

Aiming at the problems in the design and manufacturing process of mechanical products, an interactive, distributed information management platform for the product design and manufacturing process is developed. According to the digital design and manufacturing pro cess of mechanical products, the digital information is classified into design analysis data, graphics data and management data. The engineer- ing database is applied to managing the information. A digital design and manufacturing information management platform for mechanical products is developed via Web technology. The application of the platform to the design and manufacturing of some product show that it can realize exchanging and sharing the information on the Web, but also meet the requirements of collaborative design, do beneficial exploration to improve the ability with informatization method to promote mechanical product design and manufacturing industry.
