A simplified wet friction clutch test apparatus

A small, economic, test rig to evaluate friction materials and fluids for wet clutch applications has been designed, built and commissioned. In this paper, the construction, operation and performance of the machine are described, and results are presented, for two sets of typical tests. The system is capable of recording data, and torque test track, coefficients of friction, and oil temperature rise, are given.
