| Abstract: | NDIS, layered I/O and their contributions to the implementation of network protocol stacks in Windows systems are introduced. The technology of using a kernel NDIS protocol driver and a virtual device driver to implement a composite gateway working in the different layers of their network protocol stack is analyzed. Its implementation steps are given and its performance is evaluated. |
