Strengthening of a Reinforced Concrete Frame Factory Floor

Strengthening of a reinforced concrete factory floor is presented in this paper. It not only increased the load and the vibration of the floor, but also affected the safety and the comfortability of the factory floor to set up new equipments on the floor. For the purpose of the safety and the comfortability, a retrofitting method was proposed according to the site measurement of the vibration. Some reinforced concrete beams were strengthened and some steel beams were added on the floor. After retrofitting, the peak displacement of the floor is greatly decreased.
