| 摘 要： | 大学英语翻译材料是一般题材的文章和科普、科技读物，其语言的深层结构与表层结构比较接近，语体大多为中性，所用词汇、语法和表达方式主要属于语言共核的范畴。因此，笔者认为大学英语的翻译能力应以培养直译能力为主，兼顾其它翻译技巧的运用。培养翻译能力有助于比较英汉两种语言的异同，消除对英语的陌生感、巩固原有的英语基础、提高理解与分析能力，以促进外语思维的形成。
