Abstract: | With the development of high-magnetic field spectrometers, 33S solid-state NMR is now clearly feasible but remains complex, especially considering the low sensitivity of 33S NMR. This communication briefly explores the potential of 33S NMR in the field of cement chemistry. Based on a few significant examples such as the one of ettringite, whose sulfur NMR spectrum is reported here for the first time, it appears that 33S solid-state NMR might be able to distinguish between the sulphates present in a cement paste taking advantage of both the chemical shift and the quadrupolar interaction. |
