论社会符号学翻译观和语用翻译观的殊途同归

传统的翻译理论对直译和意译，归化和异化这两对矛盾缺乏解释力，也无法为译者在翻译技巧的选择上提供理论依据。社会符号学和语用学介入翻译领域，形成了社会符号学翻译观和语用翻译观。作为两种指导翻译实践的理论，它们虽然提法不同，但在本质上却有一致性：译者可以跳出直译或意译，归化或异化的束缚，通过各种可行途径达到翻译的跨文化交际目的，使译文读者获得与原文读者尽可能相同的感受。

Similarites of Socio-semiotic Translation and Pragmatic Translation in Guiding Translation Practice

Traditional translation theories cannot explain the paradoxes of literal/free translation and do- mestication/foreignization,nor can they provide the theoretical basis for the translator in his choices of translation methods. The introduction of socio-semiotics and pragmatics into translation studies has pro- duced two new perspectives：socio-semiotic translation and pragmatic translation. They are very similar in guiding translation practice, that is, rather than restricted by those two pairs of paradoxes, the translator is entitled to apply various feasible translation skills to ensure the equivalent responses between the source language and target language readers.
