| Abstract: | Spatial light modulators (LSMs) are the building blocks of optical information processors. These devices modify the polarization, phase, and/or amplitude of a readout light beam as a function of space and time in response to an electrical or optical drive signal. This paper describes SLMs suited for use in optically controlled phased array radar (OCPAR) systems. Their architectures, principles, and characterstics are discussed in detail. |
