Effect of the Fin Shape of Transversal Outside Finned Tube on Heat Transfer of Longitudinal Flow

Abstract:The enhancement of heat transfer for air flowing through the annular space with seven kinds of petal-shape fin tubes and two kinds of spiral fin tubes were investigated. It was found that the transversal fins with triangle cuts could get much stronger fluid turbulance between fins than the fins without cuts , and better performance of heat transfer could be obtained. The optimal sizes of petal-shape fins were also investigated.
