Abstract:Ultra-fine grained materials produced by equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) have been intens-ively investigated in the past several years. Much improvement has been made in the field of both funda-mental understanding and practical application of these types of materials. The authors reviewed thepresent state of technology in this field, including the current status of researeh and development on theprinciple, deformation behaviour and microstructural evolution during ECAP, structural charaterizationand mechanical properities of ECAPed materials.
