Abstract:The wettability of the molten steel/Na2O-Li2O-SiO2-B2O3 slag system was studied by a sessile drop method. It was found that the variation of the interfacial tension with the temperature in the molten steel/slag system is pretty little in the temperature range of 1 803-1 873 K. The interfacial tension remarkably decreases with increasing the oxygen content and/or sulfur content in molten steel. The contact angle for the molten steel/slag system is 153°-173°.
