Abstract: | The finite-difference time-domain (FD-TD) method is augmented with the moving spatial boundaries which define the computation domain. In cases where the simulated electromagnetic field is zero for some time over part of the spatial domain studied, savings in computation time can be realised. Saving of 50 and 25% have been achieved for transmission and reflection analyses, respectively, in an example concerning a coplanar waveguide.<> |
