| Abstract: | In order to heat catalysts before commissioning,a pre-heater or an electrical furnace is usually needed in the sul-furic acid plant,but its investment is large while its utilization ratio is low. The author of the article describes the catalyst heating process in the absence of a preheater in the 300 kt/a sulfur-based sulfuric acid plant, necessary conditions before heating catalysts, and the heating methods and attention-worthy issues, and states that the process is advanced, practicable and worth wide application. |
