Analysis of Material Selection for High-temperature Acetic Acid Tower

It was concluded from the discussion on the corrosion behavior of Cu-containing CrNiMo stainless steel and titanium in high-temperature acetic acid environment that, in the material selection, the impact of oxygen should be considered , the affect of the impurities could not be neglected and the effect of erosion should be stressed. The assessment of material selection for the tower and corrosion-resistance performance of the stainless steel and Titanium could not be based solely upon the laboratory and short-term coupon tests. The scientific conclusion could only be drawn from the commercial application.
