Abstract: | Sintered metal fibre porous felt is a new kind of functional materials with outstanding properties. Using the methods of immersion test, electrochemical polarization, metallographic and SEM analysis, the corrosion mechanism of sintered 316L stainless steel fibre porous felts was systemically studied. It is found that the intergranular and pitting corrosions both influence the corrosion process. The corrosion resistance of sintered joints between the fibres is better than that of the fibre rod; and the felt is more severely corroded and its mass increases after corrosion as its porosity increases. |
